Katie Desmond has been a bodywork professional for almost ten years.  She first knew she wanted to be an Acupuncturist when she was 16 years old. Beginning her career with Massage Therapy, she first received her Massage Technician Certification in 2001 while also attending school at Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine.  There she studied techniques such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Circulatory, Acupressure, Cupping, Gua Sha and Tui Na, which is a Traditional Chinese Medicinal form of massage.  She graduated with her Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz in 2006, and is now a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist with special certifications in Sports Injury and Orthopedics, Gynecology and Womens Health, and Hepatitis C.  Katie is also a regular volunteer Acupuncturist at Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic in San Francisco, which is a low income clinic for women with cancer.

Over the years, Katie continues to study various forms of massage including Thai, Shiatsu, and The Art of Phenomenal Touch.  In a session with Katie, she will combine a blend of massage techniques specifically tailored to your individual needs.  She is always excited to share the benefits of Acupuncture and Herbs, should you be interested in receiving a treatment.
