3 years actively working as a professional therapeutic massage therapist in home and with chiropractors. I am actively in continuing education through Upledger in Craniosacral Therapy.

Since 2013 I have and continue to offer therapeutic massage Fulltime at Summit Chiropractic in Waterford MI. We take insurance. Currently Messa and ASR patients receive free massages. Auto insurance is accepted as well.

I am trained in deep work through Irene's Myomassology Institute:

1) Myofascial stretching: Similar to Rolfing, deep with little to no oil. Stretching of superficial fascia around muscle. A great treatment for myofascial pain disorder and chronic fatigue. Muscles may be slightly sore and red after. Drink plenty of water after this treatment.

2) Myofascial Release: Includes light stretches held up to 7 minutes or more to release connective tissue binds around muscle and bone. As tissue is released so is pain and dicomfort. Friction and deep techniques are used without oil.

3) Craniosacral Therapy: Very light touch therapy that works with the deepest connective tissues around the brain and spinal cord. This therapy is similar to myofascial release, only as it relates to the body's Craniosacral system: the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. Imbalance in this system can cause mental dysfunctions, fatigue, headaches, anxiety, vertigo among other problems. This is highly recommended to those with chronic illnesses, and as preventative care.

4) Trigger point and Pressure point therapy: Deep pressure is applied to the points of tension that form in muscles, usually slow twitch muscles like the neck and upper back muscles. The points that refer pain are trigger points and contibute to pain, and headaches. These are held for 90 seconds or more and slowly released and repeated until relief is felt while the clients breathes deeply. This can be a very painful therapy but brings lasting relief.

5) Reflexology : Reflexive massage on the hands, face and feet. Points are pressed that reflect the tissues throughout the body bringing relief and massage to all systems including our vital organs.

6) Therapeutic Touch and Muscle energy: Light to no touch therapy that works with our body's energy system. Great for muscle tension relief and chronic binds. This therapy is also great for promoting healing in bones, wounds and at injury sites. Emotional stress is reduced through therapeutic touch as well.

7) Table Shiatsu: Massage using compression, stretching and acupressure to promote health and wellness. Clients feel relaxed and invigorated.

8) Lymphatic Drainage: Very light treatment that guides our lymph into its natural flow. Lymph work increases our bodies immune system by 20 times, helping us fight diseases. It also reduces excess fluid, or edema in limbs, and lymphedema. It is great to have Lymph work done if you are fighting off an illness.

I am also trained in Basic Swedish which promotes relaxation, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, and increases circulation.
