Mildred Abonce is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a National Certified and Licensed Bodyworker. Mildred specializes in holistic and oncology massage that is customized for each client using physical and spiritual methodologies. She studied finance at DePaul University and attended the European Massage Therapy School located in Skokie, IL.  Mildred became a Therapist after 18 years in the banking and real estate industry.

She has been a therapist since 2004 and has trained in other complementary and alternative modalities including:

    * Reiki Master Teacher
    * Reflexology
    * Acupressure
    * Birth Doula
    * Oncology Massage

Mildred is passionate about holistic and complementary care because it has helped her to overcome arthritis, a debilitating and chronic disease. She continues to use complementary care and a careful diet in addition to visiting her Rheumatologist regularly, and is active in researching new and better natural ways to improve her condition.

A special note is that Mildred received advance training in oncology massage after noticing that she was seeing more cancer patients than usual. She studied with Isabel Adkins of www.oncologymassagematters.com.  Mildred puts her best foot forward and feels that she can help make a difference in improving a cancer patient’s quality of life.  She realizes that this is just a small but meaningful way to help her clients deal with the physical and emotional side effects of chemotherapy and radiation and make them a little more comfortable.

Mildred also currently volunteers for hospice patients with cancer.
