Ashiatsu

A type of massage therapy in which the therapist walks on the client's back using bars and other props for support to vary pressure and weight.

How does ashiatsu work?

Sessions take place on a mat with the recipient in loose comfortable clothing without shoes though perhaps socks. Working with her bare feet on the recipient by rocking and leaning the practitioner promotes a deep sense of nurturance and healing. In an upright posture the practitioner is an efficient conductor of universal energy or chi.
